In March 2007, IPI Ltd. was engaged by 1 Stephens Road Company Ltd. as the project developer for the construction of solar townhouses located at Stephens Road, Maraval.

This project involved the construction of one block of 4 two-storey townhouse units. The project site is located in a predominantly upscale residential area of the former Champ Elysees Estate. The general surroundings allow easy access to a range of services including shops, malls, churches, schools and the popular Country Club. The site also allows easy access to the Queen’s Park Savannah, Saddle Road to the North Coast and to the West via Long Circular Road and St. James.

The architectural designs incorporated the principles of modern functional architecture and ecological sustainability through alternative energy, local materials and craftsmanship. Solar technology was also utilised in this development in order to provide sustainable energy to the homeowners.

The development consists of several unique features which includes sound proofing and grey water recycling. The design also incorporates ecological sustainability through alternative energy, local material and craftsmanship, modern green architecture, and underground utilities.

Design consideration was also given to security under all living circumstances with general allowances for the adaptation to the changing conditions and demands from young family living and entertainment and continuing toward retirement.
